FAQ - Just Ask Bill

The front of my house is brick, but looks more aged due to cracks. What's the best way to repair the brick or should I stucco it?

There are several ways to repair the brick depending on your taste, desire and budget. The first is called Tuck Pointing. Which means I would remorter joints between the brick. The second is Stucco over brick. It's a nice alternative and a positive change to your home. The third is Old World Skim Coat over the brick. Using matching and contrasting colors which create a highlighting effect on the brick when the brick and morter joints shadow through.

What's involved in chimney restoration?

Grinding old deteriorate morter and removing its debris, and then recementing the brick/Tuck Pointing.

Does it take a long time to do?

Work gets done one brick at a time, so jobs can be labor intensive. For that reason it makes sense to hire an experienced professional who does not waste time and has a clear plan of the job that needs to be done.

Is it safe to have my house open when the chimney comes down?

If there is any opening to the roof, it is covered and secured after each session. You should not have any leakage or problems during the process of restoring your chimney.

We really enjoy spending time out on the patio with our family. my husband and I would like to update our concrete patio somehow. Do you have any ideas for us?

Over layments to simulate pavers, brick, etc. Staining concrete also has a beautiful effect.

Our neighbors created a pit firepit area by our pond that we really enjoy. We'd like to have one too. It would mean a retaining wall. Does Billy Bricks construct fire pit areas?

As a master of the trades, I have a strong mastery skill over many projects. The area I'm most interested in doing to stretch myself is in creating one-of-a-kind backyard, barbeque, patio and firepit projects. Not only does it stretch me as an artist, but the projects are usually completed in a timely manner and I can see families really enjoying the project.

If you have a project like this, give me a call. I'll give you a great price for the experience and I know you'll be happy with my work.
